Organised by RX (Reed Exhibitions), WEPACK series exhibitions, including SinoCorrugated 2023, SinoFoldingCarton 2023, DPrint 2023, SinoPaper 2023, Food Pack & Tech 2023 and PACKCON 2023, has been successfully held at the National Convention & Exhibition Center (Shanghai) from 12-14 July 2023. Over the three days, the show welcomed 48,504 Chinese domestic visitors and 4,432 global visitors from more than 110 countries and regions.
WEPACK 2023 Country Days: Diversification of the global packaging industry
As a leading industry chain super event in the global packaging industry, WEPACK has always seen connecting the packaging world as the purpose. Based on the excellent exhibition, WEPACK also organises numerous international activities to promote exchanges and communication between countries - National Day is one of the very important international industry activities. Over the past decade, WEPACK includes SinoCorrugated and SinoFoldingCarton, have organized National Days for many times, which have been well received by overseas visitors.
After three years of absence from overseas visitors, WEPACK 2023 finally welcomed the first offline country day event in the post epidemic era - Southeast Asia Country Day.
For Southeast Asia Country Day, the organiser, RX, invited representatives and members of associations such as ACCA, CBMA, MACCMA, VINPAS, AKKGI and TCPA, also representatives of SCG Group from Thailand and Sansin Group to come to the site to participate in communication and exchanges. During the event, Varna, representative of the ACCA, delivered a speech on stage, sharing trends in the corrugated industry in Southeast Asia and expressing the hope that the corrugated packaging industry in Southeast Asia and around the world could develop together. ACCA also look forward to more in-depth co-operation possibilities with RX.
At the Gift Exchange part on National Day, the Vietnam Packaging Association VINPAS brought a plaque of association friendship carefully prepared for the organiser, RX, and said it was very pleased to be able to participate in the exciting activities on site, including the Southeast Asian National Day, while coming to WEPACK 2023, and that it would continue to organise groups to participate in the show in the future.
In recent years, the manufacturing industry in Southeast Asia has been gaining momentum. Because of the economic growth, the production capacity of the packaging paper and board industry in Southeast Asia is also expanding significantly, especially the development of the converting manufacturing and FMCG industries and the rise of e-commerce has greatly driven the demand for packaging.
From 22 to 24 November 2023, the organiser RX will travel to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to kick off WEPACK ASEAN's journey in Southeast Asia. With an exhibition area of over 10,000 sqm, 200 renowned exhibitors and 50+ industry associations and media to support, WEPACK ASEAN will be the largest exhibition in Southeast Asia covering the entire packaging industry chain. the Malaysian Corrugated Carton Manufacturers Association (MACCMA) will fully support WEPACK ASEAN.
On 13th July, India National Day also came as scheduled. Over the past decade, the Indian paper packaging industry has experienced rapid growth due to changing material choices, expansion into new markets, consolidation of industry resources, and government initiatives to ban plastic. Sustainability and environmental issues continue to be emphasized in India, and innovations in a variety of paper and paperboard packaging are expected to continue to drive growth in the Indian market.
The organizer provided a platform for professionals in the Indian packaging and printing industry to network and exchange ideas through the India National Day.
WEPACK 2024 will be held on 10-12 April 2024 at the Shenzhen World Exhibition and Convention Center (Bao'an Venue). During the same period of the exhibition, more international industry events and national days will also be held. In the future, WEPACK will join hands with more global partners and continue to promote the development of the global packaging industry.
